Midway Auto Group, an automotive services company specializing in rental, leasing, sales and supply, and a member of the Hankey Group of companies, appointed Brett Lippel as president. Lippel has replaced Gary Macdonald in the role of president and reports to Bret Hankey, president of Hankey Group and principal of Midway Auto Group. Macdonald retired earlier this year after 44 years with the company.

“We are excited to have Brett join our team and lead our company to future success,” said Bret Hankey. “There is no doubt he has big shoes to fill after Gary’s retirement, but Brett’s expertise, experience and work ethic in the automotive industry speaks volumes and we’re excited for this new chapter in our Midway history.”

As president, Lippel oversees all divisions including rental, leasing, car buying and vehicle supply and is responsible for the growth and development of his team and expansion of operations. Lippel also plays a key role in further building synergies between partnering Hankey Group companies including Westlake Financial, Knight Insurance and Toyota of North Hollywood.

“Midway has been the best-kept secret in L.A. for years, and I’m truly excited to join the team and grow the company into a household name,” said Brett Lippel.

Lippel has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. Prior to Midway Auto Group, he served as CEO and executive vice president at College-Concierge, an online car buying platform for international students. Previously, he led Enterprise Rent A Car’s start-up operations in Canada and the UK and was a founding member and vice president of sales at TrueCar.
