In Memoriam: Fleet Pioneer Ray Breault Raymond “Ray” L. Breault, 95, of Manchester, died on May 1, 2026, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was 95 years old, and he used every single one of those years well.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ., Breault made his home in Wayne for many years before settling in Middletown and eventually Manchester in 2012. Those who knew him, and it was easy to know him, found that he had a rare and generous heart. Breault served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War, a chapter of his life he carried with quiet pride.
Breault spent his entire career in the auto industry, most recently as a sales representative for Fleet Response. he joined NAFA in 1959, rose to serve as its national president, held nearly every leadership position the organization offered, and in 2008 was inducted into the Automotive Fleet Hall of Fame. Breault was a handyman, a car enthusiast, artistic and above all, a family man. Some of his happiest days were spent camping with his wife Kathy and their dog Zoey by his side. A man of deep faith, Breault let that faith show in the way he treated people, with generosity, warmth, and an open door. He loved his family fiercely, and that love has run deeply across generations.
Breault is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Kathleen A. Breault; his four children, William, Neil, Mark (Donna), and Denise (Kevin); two stepchildren, Adam (Rowena) and Greg (Vanessa) Naeseth; five grandchildren, Kelly, William, Taylor, McKenna, and Marin; five step-grandchildren, Ellie, Emma, Tyler, Harper, and Margot; four great-grandchildren, Tommy, McKenzie, Madison, and Aiden; two step great grandchildren, Anita and Anastasia; his brother Robert (Jeanine) Breault and was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Lisa, beloved wife of his son William.
