Critical Shifts:
-
Strategic $11M Footprint Expansion: America's Auto Auction is acquiring EBlock’s physical locations in Houston, TX, and New Orleans, LA, pushing its footprint to 50 locations nationwide and expanding physical sourcing options for Gulf Coast dealers.
-
Continued Industry Consolidation: The deal reflects ongoing M&A across the wholesale marketplace as major operators scale up physical auction infrastructure to meet high demand for used vehicle inventory.
-
EBlock’s Digital & Tech Pivot: E Automotive Inc. (EINC) is divesting these physical locations to concentrate capital on expanding its Canadian presence and licensing its auction software/technology across North America.
-
Sustained Physical Market Demand: Despite the rise of digital platforms, physical auction lanes remain essential inventory pipelines for independent dealers competing for pre-owned stock.

America's Auto Auction is expanding its wholesale auto auction footprint with the acquisition of EBlock's physical auction operations in Houston, Texas, and New Orleans, Louisiana, a move that strengthens the company's position as a leading wholesale vehicle marketplace for used car dealerships. The acquisition gives independent dealers, franchise dealers, fleet operators and commercial consignors access to a larger auction network while reinforcing America's Auto Auction's commitment to dealer inventory sourcing across key Southern U.S. markets.
The transaction, valued at approximately $11 million, includes EBlock's physical auction assets in Houston and New Orleans. The sale is expected to close on or around October 30, 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
For used car dealers, the acquisition represents continued investment in physical wholesale auction infrastructure at a time when inventory sourcing remains one of the industry's biggest challenges. By adding two established auction locations, America's Auto Auction expands buying opportunities for dealers throughout Texas, Louisiana and neighboring states while increasing vehicle supply within its growing national auction network.
The deal also highlights ongoing consolidation in the wholesale automotive marketplace, with major auction operators continuing to grow their regional presence through strategic acquisitions.
While America's Auto Auction grows its physical auction business, the transaction marks a strategic shift for E Automotive Inc. (EINC), the parent company of EBlock. The company is divesting the two U.S. auction locations to focus resources on expanding its Canadian operations and investing in wholesale technology, dealer software and licensing opportunities.
"Our U.S. teams and auctions are positioned for future growth under new ownership, while this allows us to concentrate on innovation and expanding our leadership in Canada," said Lisa Scott, President of EBlock.
What It Means for Independent Auto Dealers
The acquisition is expected to provide several benefits for dealers buying and selling inventory through America's Auto Auction, including:
-
Expanded wholesale vehicle selection across the Gulf Coast region.
-
Increased buying opportunities through a larger physical auction network.
-
Greater access for commercial consignors, fleet operators and lease companies.
-
Continued investment in dealer-focused auction services and wholesale remarketing.
America's Auto Auction has steadily expanded its national footprint in recent years, making acquisitions that strengthen regional inventory flow while maintaining locally operated auction facilities.
EBlock Shifts Focus to Technology and Canada
Although EBlock is selling its Houston and New Orleans operations, the company is not exiting the U.S. market.
Its Flint, Michigan location will remain open as an important import/export hub serving both Canadian and U.S. dealers. EBlock also plans to continue licensing its auction technology throughout North America.
The company's digital wholesale platform currently powers MAG Now, the online auction platform operated by McConkey Auction Group. McConkey also utilizes EBlock's LiveAuctioneer and LiveLanes technology, allowing vehicles to be sold simultaneously in physical and digital auction lanes.
EINC CEO Jason McClenahan said the company sees significant opportunities to license its wholesale auction technology across North America as it continues investing in software solutions for dealers.
Industry Takeaway
For independent auto dealerships, this acquisition is another sign that consolidation continues across the wholesale auction industry. While digital wholesale platforms continue to evolve, physical auction locations remain critical sources of dealer inventory, particularly for independent retailers seeking a consistent supply of used vehicles.
America's Auto Auction's purchase of the Houston and New Orleans facilities strengthens its position in two important regional wholesale markets while giving dealers additional avenues to source inventory. At the same time, EBlock is repositioning itself as a technology-focused provider, emphasizing dealer software, digital wholesale solutions and licensing partnerships rather than expanding its physical auction network.
As competition for quality used inventory remains high, both strategies reflect how wholesale providers are adapting to meet the changing needs of today's automotive dealers.
